Surfing, fishing, skiing, kayaking, scenic walks, diving, picnics, hill climbing, shellfish gathering, golfing, exploring rockpools, just relaxing and reading. The Camp, Cabins and Motels are located on the shore of a beautiful safe sandy Bay called Mahia Beach. The Holiday Park has powered and non powered sites, toilet and shower facilities, cook house, childrens playground, fish cleaning area, TV room and a camp store. Before Christmas there will be 2 new toilet/shower blocks on the camp. With 8 extra toilets and showers for both men and women. There will be two disabled shower/toilet booths. There are 4 Seaview Motels and 4 Ground-level units. All the Motels cater to families. They are fully self contained and sleep up to 6 people comfortably. 2 cabins have their own kitchens and 8 cabins share a central kitchen. All cabin tennets use the camp showers and toilets. The camp store is open from mid December to Easter. Fresh bread and milk daily(except public holidays). Newspapers, groceries, and almost any thing you need to make your holiday run smoothly. Within walking distance, there is a Sports Bar and Bistro, a lotto outlet, a medical centre, the boat landing, picnic spots, and of course the beach. Gisborne is 1hr North of Mahia Beach and Wairoa is 35 mins South on state highway 2. So if you need a shopping fix the shops aren't far away.
