  • Product list: Livingstones was established in 1919 by Captain H. G. Livingstone in response to the encouragement of many well known Canterbury families. The company pioneered many of Christchurch's large urban developments and became well known for their agency, management and valuation services. In the decades of the 60's and 70's, Livingstones was responsible for the creation and development of many major shopping centres in Auckland and Christchurch, and the development and leasing of prestige office accommodation in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. During these foundation years, the cornerstone of the company was confidential service as real estate agents, property managers, valuers and auctioneers. In 1987, the present directors, together with Trevor Hayes (since retired and now a consultant to the firm), negotiated the purchase of the business from the late Mr R. R. N. Livingstone, son of H. G. Livingstone, who remained a consultant to the firm until his death in June 1995. Livingstones today is a multi-faceted consulting practice employing over 100 staff specialising in all aspects of: * Commercial Sales and Leasing * Commercial Property Management * Shopping Centre Management * Retail Property Consulting * Property Valuation The head office is located in central Christchurch. Whilst based in Christchurch, the company operates particularly for retail and valuation clients throughout both the South and North Islands giving consultancy and valuation advice. Extensive use of technology assists in this process. As the company has no public company or outside shareholders, development or construction performance ties, it remains independent in the provision of its professional services and is thus able to avoid conflict of interest with clients. The company prides itself on its professionalism, confidentiality and integrity in the use of information provided to management and staff.
