Product list: From a weatherboard cottage in Heuheu Street in the 1950's to new, sleek and ultra-modern offices over 50 years later, Le Pine Co has firmly cemented itself as one of the leading edge law firms in Taupo and the Central Plateau. The name Le Pine lends itself to one of the company's earlier partners, Raymond Horton "Tiny" Le Pine who set up practice in Taupo in 1953. Two years later, solicitor John Corry joined Le Pine Co and like many of Le Pine Co staff members, John is still a part of one of Taupo's early pioneering businesses. Their new offices on the corner of Paora Hapi and Gascoigne Streets is evidence of this. Company Principal Alan Vane says the recent move from Horomatangi Street reflects the direction in which the company is moving. Le Pine Co simply outgrew the former premises and with 19 staff members, inadequate parking and no lift access, the decision was made to relocate. Originally founded as a branch office of the Napier firm RH Le Pine Co, by RH Le Pine in the late 1940's, the independent firm of RH Le Pine Co, Taupo was established by John Corry and Dick Hampson in 1953. In 2003, the firm celebrated 50 years of continuous services to clients in the Central North Island area. While other firms have come and gone through this time, Le Pine Co has been a constant presence, acting for many of the original settler families. In many ways the growth of Le Pine Co and Taupo and the Central Plateau have paralleled each other. Today Le Pine Co is the largest and the most specialised provider of legal services in the Taupo district, and is a member of NZ LAW, an association of 50 independent legal practices throughout New Zealand.
