A further established vineyard was purchased in 1999 off State Highway #1, offering different soil types. Alpine Pacific Wines was chosen as the company name to reflect the nature of the Waipara Valley where the company operates and to link the business of producing quality fine wines to the Alpine Pacific Touring Route located north of Christchurch. The main wine brands of the company are The Hanmer Junction and MOUNT CASS to emphasize the importance of Mt Cass the predominant peak in the Teviotdale Hills that overlooks the Waipara Valley.
