Robinson Seismic Ltd supplied 180 base isolation bearings and 120 sliding bearings to earthquake-proof a new 300-bed hospital in Bhuj, India, after the hospital was destroyed in the 2001 earthquake. Recent Advances Vibration dampers - a more recent invention by Robinson Seismic Ltd - absorb small and medium-sized vibrations from earthquakes, wind and traffic. This makes the dampers suitable for tall and flexible structures such as bridges and buildings. 2007 Wellington Regional Gold Award - Discovering Gold category Robinson Seismic Ltd - RSL was crowned the winner of Discovering Gold 2007 - an award focusing on technological, scientific and innovative research and development projects. The award recognised the significance of the RoGlider - RSL's new and innovative seismic isolation product suitable for lighter-weight structures. The RoGlider has been over 5 years in the research and development stage, culminating in its first commercial application at the new Wanganui Hospital currently under construction. Robinson Seismic Ltd have recently supplied lead-rubber bearings for the upgrade of the Wellington Regional Hospital.
