  • Product list: The Tauwhare Military Museum began as a small private collection and has grown rapidly over the last few years to its present size. The increasing number of local people and out of town visitors enquiring whether they could see the collection prompted the decision to open it to the public. We are not here to promote war or war games, but see the museum as a "MEMORIAL OF FREEDOM" in honour of those men and women who fought to give us our freedom. Also the many people that didn't go to the war zones, but remained in the home countries working. Being a private owned museum means that it must rely on a small entrance charge to grow and develop. Building materials, maintenance and general running costs quickly absorb funds. With continued support and interest from the public the museum will progress, becoming a valued educational and recreational facility for the Waikato area. The museum is a 15 minute drive from Hamilton. We welcome group parties. By appointment only.
