From its elevated position, close to the waters edge, and overlooking the Pahi Wharf, you can watch the sun rise on the beautiful Kaipara Harbour, one of Northland's best kept secrets. There are safe swimming spots, a playground for the kids' entertainment, or you could enjoy cricket, croquet or soccer on the nearby Reserve. Alternatively, just kick back, relax and enjoy The Tides Inn, its decks and a large landscaped section which provides the perfect environment to unwind. The settlement of Pahi is almost entirely encircled by tidal seawater and is a popular departure point for fishing. It is an unspoilt coastal retreat located 7km from Paparoa township and 12km from the renowned Matakohe Kauri Museum. There is plenty to do locally, or absolutely nothing to do - it's all up to you! The Tides Inn has good quality modern chattels, plenty of space, a well equipped kitchen, and quality beds and linens. It will sleep 7 comfortably, plus has 2 portacots available, a highchair, and foldaway beds for an extra 2 if required. The village of Paparoa, just 7kms away, offers some great cafe choices and a visit to the nearby renowned Matakohe Kauri Museum is a great way to spend a few hours being immersed in our colonial history. RATES: Summer Peak (December and January): $195/night, $1200/wk Summer Off-Peak (February to April): $130/night, $770/wk Winter Rate (May to November):$100/night, $550/wk Rates are based on 4 people, with a minimum of a two night stay. For groups of more than 4, a surcharge of $15 per night applies for each additional person Preference is given during the Christmas/New Year and Peak seasons to bookings of a week or more.
